Instructive Pathways to Kingdom WealthSample

THE COST OF UNAUTHORIZED POSSESSIONS
In the conquest of Jericho, God gave Israel a specific command: spare only Rahab and her family, and destroy everything else. But Achan disobeyed. Covetousness drew his heart to the wealth of the Gentiles, and he secretly took some of the forbidden items. His action brought judgment on the entire nation. When Joshua sought God, deeply distressed over Israel’s defeat, God replied: “Israel has sinned… they have taken of the accursed thing…” A single man’s disobedience disrupted an entire nation’s covenant advantage.
God wanted Israel to destroy everything in Jericho, not because He opposed wealth, but because He wanted them to treasure His provision above the spoils of war. Until the wealth of the world means nothing to you, you’re not ready for true kingdom wealth. Achan’s story is a sobering reminder that the presence of money does not mean divine approval. Some cars are Babylonian cars. Some garments are Babylonian garments. They may shine in appearance, but they bring spiritual decay. I declare: May you never wear what Heaven has rejected!
When you insist on having things your way, irrespective of the source, you forfeit the covering of God. Covetousness is not just a personal flaw—it invites divine judgment. Never allow desperation to override discernment. If it didn’t come from God, it’s not worth having. May the treasures of this world lose their grip on your soul, and may you find joy in the authentic provisions of Jehovah.
THOUGHT TO PONDER:
Have I taken anything God told me to destroy? Am I holding onto what He said to release, risking His hand turning against me?
PRAYER:
Lord, preserve me from every bait of the devil that would make You withdraw Your hand from my life. Amen.
