Chosen for Love: A Journey With JesusSample

Chosen for Love: A Journey With Jesus

DAY 2 OF 3

A Heart Like John’s

John, the disciple Jesus loved, embodied a relationship with Christ that was extraordinary in its devotion and closeness. His life stands as a beacon, urging you to pursue a love for God that consumes your heart and mind, just as Jesus commanded when He said to love God with all your being. Unlike Judas, whose heart turned to betrayal, or Thomas, who grappled with doubt, John chose trust and intimacy with Jesus. He rested near the Savior’s heart at the Last Supper, a picture of the deep connection available to you.

Today, I invite you to pause and reflect: What holds you back from this kind of relationship with Jesus? Are doubts creeping in, whispering that His love might not be enough? Are distractions—busyness, fears, or worldly pulls—keeping you from fully embracing the bond He offers? John’s example challenges you to lay these aside and draw near to Jesus. He delights in you, longing for a relationship that mirrors His unwavering, steadfast love.

Consider what it means to lean into Jesus as John did, to listen for His voice above the noise, to trust Him even when the path feels uncertain. This isn’t a fleeting call but an invitation to an eternal, transformative connection with the One who knows you completely. You are cherished, and He is waiting for you to draw near.
