WE SHALL NOT DIE - Reading With the People of God #17

DAY 23 OF 61

Don’t be Shaken, You are not Forsaken

It is easy in the world in which we live to allow the things of this world to shake us, to lead us into fear, anxiety, anger, and even wonder where God is and what He is up to. Yet God reminds us, through Isaiah, that though the evil of this world seems strong and should be feared, it is nothing more than “smoldering stumps” or “smoldering stubs of firewood”. Why? Because they are not the Lord God. They are not the Sovereign Lord, our God is! God reminds us that what He says and what He has planned is what will actually happen. Our God is the one in control. We are called to stand in that truth. To trust, believe, and stay true to Him even when it seems that evil is winning.

Do you live in the truth of God or in the power and the ways of man? Do you believe that God has got this and that He truly is the Sovereign Lord? When things are tough, wait on Him. When things are overwhelming, continue to trust and depend upon Him. When the future looks bleak, remember that God has an unbelievable future planned for those who truly believe in Him and “Stand” with Him and for Him! What He says happens! He wins! Trust in that today. Keep looking up to Him!

About this Plan

WE SHALL NOT DIE - Reading With the People of God #17

In this 17th installment of Reading with the People of God, we continue following a lectionary rhythm—Old Testament, New Testament, and Psalms. This plan explores the prophetic voices of Micah, Habakkuk, and Isaiah, who confronted kings and warned of coming judgment while pointing to the hope of the Messiah. Alongside these, we'll read from the Gospel of Luke and the book of Acts, tracing the life of Christ and the birth of the Church. As we read these powerful passages in parallel, may the Spirit shape us and grow us in Christ together.
