UnleashSample

Saul was going the wrong direction. He was headed to persecute the emerging church in Damascus, having already persecuted the church in Jerusalem, and yet something stopped him. The most adamant opponent of the early church became its loudest supporter. How did this happen? How could a life be completely turned around? How could God’s purpose and power be unleashed through a man like Saul? The answer is that God reoriented him.
Imagine you are following your directions and you take a left instead of a right. What do your directions tell you to do? They show you where to turn around and how to get back on the right path. That is what God is doing for Saul; He is showing him the way to get back on the right path by unleashing direction in his life. By following God’s direction for his life, Saul’s life is radically changed. This direction leads Saul to write a large portion of the New Testament, plant churches across the world, and become a follower of Christ. God’s direction guides us to follow Him faithfully, and when we faithfully follow His direction, we are unleashed into His purpose and calling for our lives.
But what does this look like for us? How do we know what direction God is leading us in? Simply put, He is always showing you the way to go; the question is if you are listening. God shows us His direction through the Word and prayer; our job is to listen and follow. God was always speaking to Saul, but the Damascus road was where Saul finally listened. In following the direction that God gives us, we become unleashed into the purpose of God in our lives.
Ask yourself, in what way are you going right now? Where do you need direction to know the right way to go? Bring your answers to God, and let Him lead you in the direction He is calling you to follow, and by following this direction, wait and see what God will unleash in your life.
