Day 21—Pouring out your joy in worship
Devotional
Joy can’t be contained; it needs to be shared and declared! In fact, we can confidently say that joy in worship is never void of emotion. It is a moving of the heart that expresses itself outwardly to God, and others benefit in the process. When Peter declares to the lame man, “In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk” (Acts 3:6 NIV), it immediately becomes a moment of joy-filled worship! The man begins “walking and jumping and praising God” (Acts 3:8 NIV). And you can do the same in worship. Don’t hold back your joy, even if others look on in wonder and amazement, just like the people did in the temple courts. When God has done something good, it’s natural to respond with shouts of joy and victory (Psalm 118:15 NIV). You have seen God step in to make a way where it seemed impossible; proclaim what the Lord has done!
Prayer
Lord, I am so grateful for the ways You have turned situations around for my good! Thank You for Your kindness, generosity, and power. Joy is my natural response, and I will not hold it back. Amen.
Application
Give joyful praise to God for His goodness to you; why don’t you even get a bit foolish? I challenge you to jump up and down and give thanks to God. It will probably get you smiling or even laughing!

About this Plan

"Deeper In Worship" is a 28-day plan designed to help you grow in your love for God through a fuller understanding of why and how we worship. Worship is for God alone; it is deeply spiritual, often physical, and a journey into encountering the presence of God. The plan includes a daily Psalm and a New Testament passage. It finishes with a short devotional, a prayer, and a suggested application.
