Height – The Love That Lifts Us Up to God
The height of God’s love represents His saving power that not only redeems us but lifts us to a new dimension of life and fellowship with Him. Ephesians 2:6 (KJV) reminds us: “...and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.” This verse emphasizes that God’s love not only brings us out of sin but also lifts us up to share in His own glory and presence.
The love that lifts is a transforming love. We are not called to remain on the ground, slaves to our weaknesses or imprisoned by earthly circumstances, but to live a new life, rich in meaning and spiritual power. God’s love lifts us beyond the limits of our human condition and grants us access to deep communion with Him—an intimacy that surpasses all understanding.
This height is not only a future reality but also a present one. Through Christ, we are already spiritually lifted and seated “in heavenly places.” This means that even in daily life, we are called to live as citizens of heaven, carrying with us the awareness of our dignity and eternal destiny. God’s love gives us strength to overcome difficulties and face challenges with faith and hope.
Moreover, the height of God’s love reminds us that our faith journey has a sublime goal: eternal fellowship with Him. We are not only loved but also elevated to share in His glory. This gives us a deep motivation to persevere, to grow in faith, and to live in a way that reflects God’s love and holiness.
In summary, the height of God’s love invites us to look beyond the present, to live with a gaze toward heaven, confident that the love that saved us is the same love that lifts us to a full, free life in eternal communion with the Lord.
