Length – The Love That Endures Over Time
The length of God’s love represents His perseverance and eternity. In Jeremiah 31:3 (KJV), God speaks to Israel, saying: “The LORD appeared to me from afar, saying: ‘Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love...’” This verse reminds us that divine love is not something temporary or fleeting but a love that spans centuries, with no beginning and no end.
The length of God’s love is the promise that He remains faithful to us in every season of life. Even when we feel distant, abandoned, or broken, God continues to love us with the same intensity as always. His love does not depend on our performance or merits; it does not fade when we stumble or turn away from Him. In fact, it is precisely in those moments of weakness that His love becomes even more evident and powerful.
This eternal length of God’s love offers us deep security. In a world where everything changes and nothing seems to last, knowing there is an unchanging and constant love is a refuge and a source of hope. The Lord has loved us from eternity past and will love us into eternity future. There is no moment in our lives when we are not enveloped by His affection.
Moreover, this enduring love encourages us to persevere in love toward God and others. Knowing we are loved eternally pushes us to respond with faithfulness and gratitude and to support those around us in difficult times, just as God does with us.
The length of God’s love shows us that we are precious in His eyes forever, that His heart never changes, and that we can face life with the certainty of being loved, sustained, and accompanied forever.
