The Cleansing of Forgiveness
What a glorious God we serve! In His great mercy, He has made provision within our covenant relationship with Him so that when we fall short, we can be fully restored to right standing. This “righteousness” isn’t something we work toward—it’s our present identity in Christ. As 2 Corinthians 5:17–21 tells us, we are new creations, and we have become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
1 John 1:9 reveals the ongoing faithfulness of God. This isn’t just forgiveness—it’s a cleansing, a purifying from the stain and shame of sin. God’s forgiveness is complete.
Through the Father’s never-ending love and mercy, confession isn’t about guilt—it’s about restoration. It’s about remembering who we truly are in Christ and stepping back into the light of His presence.
