NearnessSample

We live in a world where it is hard to know whether what we read, see, or hear is true anymore. With AI and advanced digital technology, media can be created from nothing into whatever the user wants. In 2023, a picture of Pope Francis went viral as it showed him wearing a branded white puffer jacket, sparking debates about papal fashion, wealth, and authenticity before it was debunked as an AI creation.
In the midst of uncertainty, we have a steadfast anchor: God’s Word. It is not dated or approximate. It is flawless. God’s Word is pure, “like silver refined in a furnace” (Psalm 12:6, ESV) and trustworthy in every situation.
This kind of perfection isn’t just about accuracy—it’s about reliability. God’s words do not shift with the culture or unravel under pressure. They shield us, guide us, and steady us. Psalm 18:30 (ESV) echoes the same truth: “This God—his way is perfect: the word of the Lord proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.” When life pelts us with anxiety, disappointment, or confusion, we’re invited to take shelter—not in our own understanding, but in the promises of a flawless God.
Notice that the protection has a condition: it is for “those who take refuge in him” (Proverbs 30:5, ESV). It requires making an active decision to choose to rest in God’s promises, leaning on His truth, and trusting His direction when the path isn’t clear.
Today, ponder this: Is there something in your life that you need to bring before God, knowing that He will be your refuge? Commit it to God today, knowing that His Word is true and He will be your shield.
