DAY 7 OF 8

Day 7: Cleansing Our Hearts

Maintaining Communion with God

Obstacle: Sin and Lack of Communion with God

Scripture:

Romans 8:28 (NIV) - "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

Devotional:

Sin can create a barrier between us and God, hindering our prayer life. Unconfessed sin can lead to feelings of guilt, shame, and separation from God. To maintain communion with God, we must confess our sins and ask for His forgiveness. 1 John 1:9 assures us that "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." When we cleanse our hearts, we open ourselves to a deeper connection with God. And Romans 8:28 reminds us that even in our struggles, God is working for our good.

Reflection:
"Is there any unconfessed sin in my life that is hindering my prayer life?"

Action: Take time for honest self-reflection. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any areas of sin in your life. Confess those sins to God and ask for His forgiveness. Then, make a conscious effort to turn away from those sins and live a life that is pleasing to Him.
