Letting God in When Life Falls ApartSample

Letting God In: When You’re Tired of Trying
There’s a kind of tired that sleep can’t fix. The kind that settles into your bones after years of striving, trying to measure up, fixing everything, and being everything. It wears you down. If you’ve ever lived in survival mode—whether because of trauma, addiction, or just the weight of life—you know exactly what that feels like.
One woman once told me, “I wasn’t just tired. I was tired of being tired. I didn’t know how to stop.” And yet, right there, God began to do something new, not by giving her more to do, but by inviting her to finally rest.
Jesus says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Not a new rulebook. Not a performance checklist. Just rest. That’s the invitation of grace.
Letting God in when you’re exhausted means you stop pretending to be strong enough. It means admitting you don’t have it all figured out, and trusting that He does. It means receiving His strength when yours runs out.
Maybe you’ve been pushing through, showing up, going through the motions, but inside, you’re empty. This isn’t where the story ends. God meets you in your weakness. He’s not looking for your hustle. He’s offering you His heart.
Reflection:
- In what ways are you trying to hold everything together on your own?
- What would it look like to rest instead of strive today?
- Are you willing to trust God with what you can’t carry anymore?
Prayer:
Lord, I’m tired—not just physically, but deep in my soul. I’ve been trying to manage everything on my own, and it’s left me weary. Today I accept Your invitation to rest. Teach me how to let go of striving and let You carry what I can’t. Thank You for being strong when I am not. Amen.
About this Plan

Some moments change everything. A phone rings. A door slams. Words are spoken that can’t be taken back. Suddenly, the life you were holding onto begins to slip through your hands. You start to pull away, not because you’ve stopped believing, but because you don’t know how to pray from a place like this. It hurts. It’s messy. It’s not what you pictured. God hasn’t gone anywhere. He isn’t asking you to be fine or to have the right words. He’s just waiting for you to let Him in.
