Trust God's Timing

The previous day, I spoke about exercising patience with God. But today, I want us to look at trusting in God's timing, a thing that is very hard for many believers around the world. That is when patience has been so stretched that people tend to give up. Let me use Abraham's story as an example.

God told Abraham that he would be the father of many nations when he was seventy-five years old. He waited for twenty-five good years before having Isaac, his first legitimate child with his wife, Sarah. Think about that. Waiting on God to fulfil a dream for twenty-five years? That's very long. Abraham had faith, and so did Sarah. But a time came when Sarah became impatient. Guess what? She doubts that she'll be able to give birth since she is growing older. So, she tells Abraham, her husband, to sleep with Hagar, her maid, to raise a child through her. That was how Ishmael was born. To this day, the descendants of Ishmael are hostile to God's people (the real Israelites). One woman's act of impatience has led to generations of fights and wars. If you are ever wondering why there are usually wars in the Middle East, this is the reason.

Sometimes, people think we can help God to fulfil His promises in our lives by cutting corners. However, later, it ends up with people in perpetual trouble that cannot be fully dealt with but only managed.

Don't think you are wiser than God. If you refuse to walk in His ways and trust Him all the days of your life, some bad decisions you take might hurt generations. Be careful. God will never leave nor forsake you. Always remember that.
