Keys to RevivalSample

Holy Hunger (Key of Hunger & Prayer)
In 1806, five college students in Massachusetts met in a field to pray for people who had never heard about Jesus. When a sudden thunderstorm rolled in, they took cover under a haystack. But they didn’t stop praying! That moment became known as the Haystack Prayer Meeting.
It sparked a powerful missions movement: the first American mission board was formed, missionaries were sent to other nations, and the Bible began reaching people across the world.
In Matthew 9:37–38 (NIV), Jesus says to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” It wasn’t a suggestion—it was a call to intercession. Prayer births both personal and community transformation. It is where Kingdom movements are born.
Revival begins with a hunger for God’s presence—a holy desperation that moves us to our knees in prayer. When believers unite in desperate prayer, they:
1. Ground themselves in the fear of the Lord
2. Ask for God’s will
3. Pray the Word
4. Receive hunger for God as a gift
Villagers in a tribe in Malawi, Africa, can attest to this. Desperate, united prayer changed everything for their communities! Women often led these prayer times, helping neighbors turn from sin and follow Jesus. As hearts changed, so did entire communities—fights between tribes stopped, churches were launched, and the message of Jesus spread everywhere.
Prayer and holy hunger fuel actions that shake heaven and transform earth. Are you hungry enough to seek God until He comes?
Prayer: Lord, give me a holy hunger for Your presence. Stir my heart to pray for my family, my city, and the nations. Let my prayers become a spark for revival. Amen.
