HEAL BOLDLY: Healing Is Holy Work - a 5-Day Devotional Journey for Women Ready to Heal, Grow, and RiseSample

DAY 3: Healing Is Not Linear
Scripture: “See, I am doing a new thing… I am making a way in the wilderness.” – Isaiah 43:19
🌿 Reflection:
Healing rarely moves in a straight, predictable line. It’s a messy, complex process full of ups and downs, progress and setbacks. You might have days where you feel strong and hopeful, followed by days when old pain resurfaces unexpectedly and overwhelms you.
This doesn’t mean you’re failing or doing something wrong. It simply means you’re human. Healing is part of living, and living includes struggle, confusion, and uncertainty.
Sometimes, it feels like you take two steps forward and then one step back. But even that “step back” is part of moving forward — it’s a chance to learn, to rest, to reassess, and to gather strength for the next step.
Remember, God is at work in every twist and turn of your journey. Even in the wilderness seasons — when things feel bleak or stuck — God is making a way. New growth is happening beneath the surface, even if you can’t see it yet.
Give yourself grace. Celebrate small victories. Trust that healing isn’t about perfection or speed; it’s about persistence and faithfulness.
🙏🏾 Prayer:
Jesus, help me stop judging my healing by a timeline or by others’ expectations. Teach me to recognize progress in all its forms, even the small, unseen ones. Let Your grace shape my pace and soften my heart when I feel discouraged.
📝 Prompt:
When have you felt like your healing wasn’t moving fast enough? What truths about God’s faithfulness and your own resilience can you hold onto when you feel stuck?
