Try to imagine what it would be like to journey through the wilderness...in the dark.
Maybe you'd get scared, lost, trip, or fall into danger. Sometimes walking through life feels like you're embarking on a dark journey without a map. But God's Word is the light of truth. It shines in the dark. Let its timeless wisdom direct your choices. Look to God’s Living Word to illuminate the right path. God hasn't left us alone without a map. You don't have to stumble and wander. God will lead you—through His word!
In Psalm 119:103-105, King David said...
"How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! I gain understanding from your precepts; therefore I hate every wrong path. Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path." (NIV)
Through His Word, God guides us on paths of grace. It is such a comfort to know that even when the road of life gets rocky—even when you might be wondering, "God, are You sure about this? Did I take a wrong turn here?" you can trust His Word to lead you in the right direction. Even if you have taken a wrong turn, you can trust that God’s Word will not lead you astray, but guide you back to safety! Just like a flashlight brightening a shadowy trail, His Word will show you when to go, when to stop, turn left, turn right. His Word can rescue you from danger and lead you to a thriving life.
When life seems to crumble around you, the Holy Scriptures stand faithful and strong.
Right in the middle of troubles—death, suffering, hatred, confusion, and hopelessness—God is guarding you and guiding you. He is your Good Shepherd. He’s speaking to you through His Word and keeping you from going astray. By the light of truth, you can avoid falling into crippling fear, despair, and the destructive traps of the enemy. Your Shepherd cares for you, and I know the bright light of His truth will shine for you, illuminating even the darkest path.
Psalm 23:3-4 says...
"He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me." (NLT)
Let's pray:
God, I can't see the future, but You do. Sometimes I don't know what to do, but You do. Without Your guidance, I’m sure I would stumble and fall. I need you to lead me with Your Living Word. Light up the path of Your will, and I will follow You. I trust You—my Good Shepherd. In Jesus' name. Amen.
