DAY 6 OF 7

Jesus did not Minister to the People of the World by Himself

And, likewise, we were never meant to go on this journey alone. Jesus had His faithful friends by His side, and they faced life’s challenges together. They grew, and learned, and corrected each other when needed, supported each other, and helped one another—all for the shared goal of faithfully following Christ. We can do that, too!

Despite the disagreements that happen in the Church, we are stronger together.

Ephesians 4:3-6 instructs us this way:

"Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace. For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future. There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all, in all, and living through all."

Wow. The enemy of our souls knows we are easier to pick on when we are separated from the body of Christ. He tries to cause division and conflict within the church with the goal of isolating us from the fellowship and support that strengthens us. Don’t let him have his way in that! Find a way to participate consistently in God’s community, the church.

We believers are all loved by one Father, forgiven through one Christ, and filled by one Spirit. The enemy of our souls will try to divide us by our opinions and preferences. But always remember that the peace and love which bind us together are more powerful than the differences which would divide us. We will all be together in eternity together with Christ, and we can all enjoy and love one another starting now!

As Psalm 133:1 says:

How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers and sisters live together in harmony!

We are entrusted with loving one another as Christ loves us. We are brothers and sisters in the family of God. Treasure this gift we share—the unity of our common salvation in Christ. Let’s protect this gift of unity He’s given us—being together is truly a beautiful thing!

Can I pray for you?

Lord, I pray each one of our friends would experience the peace, support, and beautiful expression of grace that’s found in fellowship with a body of faithful believers. Help us to bless and serve Your Church, even as we are blessed by it. Amen.
