Words are so Important!
In the hustle and bustle of life, it’s easy to forget God’s truth and become confused by the lies of our adversary.
But we aren’t alone. We need our community to speak the truth over us. The Bible isn’t just for our personal truth, it’s the truth for all believers all over the world. We give each other essential encouragement when we speak Scripture back to one another.
Ephesians 4:15 says it this way:
"…speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Jesus Christ."
If your faith ever starts to feel shaky under your feet, the church family will be like an anchor—holding you steady by speaking the truth to you in love. When you start to get off track, other believers in the body will remind you who God is and who you are in Christ!
The body of Christ is meant to be a network of support, encouragement, mutual respect, and guidance. When we wander away from God, our brothers and sisters will draw us back. In times of struggle, they will lovingly help us out, and help us stand strong by speaking truth into our lives. God has designed the Church as a community of love and a system of mutual support.
Don’t miss out on this vital support God wants you to have!
In Ecclesiastes 4:9-12, the Bible says:
"Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone? A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken."
Christianity is not a solitary faith. We experience God more fully when we are active participants in a community of Christ-followers.
I’d love to pray for you.
Lord, help and bless the church, bringing in all the believers who have not yet joined our community. Surround them with love, support, and joy as they choose to share life with other believers. Amen.
