God, Not the Glass -- Reset Your Mind and SpiritSample

If you’ve ever said, “Why do I keep doing what I don’t want to do?”—you’re not alone. The answer often lies not in behavior but in belief. What you believe drives how you behave. That’s why God doesn’t just tell us to act differently—He invites us to think differently.
When I was in the cycle of evening drinking, I kept hoping that willpower would fix it. But it never stuck. Why? Because my mind hadn’t changed. I still believed alcohol helped me cope, made me fun, and gave me rest.
But Romans 12:2 teaches that transformation begins when our thinking changes. Philippians 4:8 then shows us where to focus: truth, nobility, beauty, and goodness. When you meditate on that, the world’s patterns start to lose their grip.
This isn’t about denying your cravings or pretending you’re fine. It’s about rewiring your mind to reflect God’s truth instead of the culture’s noise. You don’t just need a new routine—you need a new way of seeing. And through Christ, it’s already available to you.
Prayer:
Father, help me recognize the thought patterns that are holding me back. I surrender my mind to You. Let Your Word reshape the way I think, so I can live in freedom.
Journal Prompt:
What thoughts about alcohol or yourself do you sense God wants to transform? What truth do you need to begin rehearsing daily?
