5-Day Devotional for Moms: Grace in Your GapsSample

Lonely, but Never Alone
Verse:
“Nevertheless I am continually with You; You hold me by my right hand.” —Psalm 73:23 (NKJV)
Devotional:
There were days in motherhood where I felt completely alone. Surrounded by the sounds of little voices, yet still carrying the ache of isolation. I wondered, Does anyone see me? Does anyone know how hard this feels?
But God did. He was there in the folding, in the car rides, in the quiet moments where I cried out between chores. As I turned my heart toward Him, I realized I had never really been alone. The Holy Spirit became my companion, my comfort, and my source of strength.
You may feel lonely in motherhood—but you are never truly alone.
Prayer:
Lord, remind me that I am not alone. Help me feel Your nearness in the hidden and quiet moments of this season.
Reflection Questions:
- When do you feel the most unseen in your motherhood journey?
- What would it look like to invite God into those everyday spaces?
- How might your perspective shift if you knew He was always holding your hand?

About this Plan

This 5-day devotional is for the mom doing her best—and still feeling like it’s not enough. The one buried in laundry, overwhelmed with appointments, and wondering if her unseen efforts matter. If that’s you, take a breath. Grace in Your Gaps by Lisa Schwarz was born from her experience as a stay-at-home mom of six—navigating chaos and learning that God doesn’t wait for us to have it all together. He meets us in the middle. These short devotions remind you: your gaps aren’t failures—they’re invitations for grace. Pause. Breathe. Let God meet you there.
