EquipHer Vol. 25: "Flawed Is the New Flawless"Sample

DAY 4 – The Power of Grace
It is through our shortcomings that God’s grace can be fully revealed in us. (2 Corinthians 12:9)
We live in a world that rewards us when we perform flawlessly and punishes us when we fall short. This system teaches us early on that our value lies in our performance, and without even realizing it, we start believing that everything needs to be earned: approval, opportunities, even God’s purpose for our lives.
But the grace of God works differently. Grace cannot be earned, it must be received, and there lies the challenge: if we want to make room for God's grace to work in our lives, we must release the idea of striving for perfection. We need to release the voice inside our head that constantly whispers, “You are not enough,” because that voice does not come from God. It is a voice that keeps us stuck, prevents us from walking out our full purpose, and makes us forget that in God’s eyes we are already fully accepted and approved to fulfill the calling He has placed over us.
This does not excuse us from commitment, but it frees us from the burden of having to prove our worth at every step. It is in moments of inadequacy, doubt, mistakes, and even failure that His grace finds space to move.
When we let go of the need to be perfect and accept that we will not always have everything under control, we allow God to work deeply within our character, our mindset, our relationships, and our daily decisions.
When we give up perfectionism, we are not lowering our value—we are rejecting the lie that we must earn God’s love and favor. And in doing so, we embrace the truth that God is always ready to meet us in our limitations and bring His perfect work to completion within us (Philippians 1:6).
Reflective Questions:
- In what area of your life do you feel the need to prove your worth through perfection?
- What would shift if you began living as though God’s grace for you really is enough?
Prayer:
Lord, today I want to make room for Your grace—grace that meets me in my weakness and shortcomings. Help me walk free from the pressure to be flawless, and give me the confidence that You are always ready to meet me right where I reach my limits. Amen.
