No Pressure

DAY 19 OF 20

God knows what our future holds, so that we can rest in Him. We can understand this with every fiber of our being.

And yet, we often think that He needs our help. If He tells us all His plans and shows us all He has for us, we’ll be able to better guide Him along to where we want to go. This is not trusting. This is an attempt to exert control, and this is a manifestation of pride. So when we don’t know what’s going to happen, when we can’t see the outcome, anxiety, pride, and doubt creep in, and then we can feel lost. We can feel out of control. We feel unloved.

So we finally cry out for help. This is precisely where God wants us to be. He wants us to lean on Him. He wants us to run to Him before we try to figure everything out on our own and travel down the hole of doubting His love. He wants us to be at peace with the unknown plans and promises He has for our lives. God has given us a beautiful promise in Jeremiah 29:11: His plans for us are good, and there is hope in our future. There is no need to worry, to overplan, to try and take control: God has it all in His good hands.

About this Plan

No Pressure

We feel pressure at home, at work, within our families, and in our friendships. Pressure is part of being human. But what do we do with it? How do we handle the relentless weight without breaking down or burning out? What about God? What does He have to say about it, and does He even care? That’s what this series is all about—learning how to not only deal with the pressure, but to survive and thrive.
