The Thief of EverythingSample

Have you ever felt like you really and truly belonged? With your family, in your marriage, with a friend group, in a church—something is compelling about finding a place or a space where we truly belong. Where you belong or even who you belong with may vary from person to person, but the impact of that belonging is the same across the board. It leaves us feeling more confident, loved, appreciated, and accepted as who we are, just as we are. In other words, it leaves little room for comparison and so much more room for celebration! The good news? That’s precisely how God wants us to feel in our relationship with Him.
God sees us as beloved children who fit in perfectly with His family. Because of that, we don’t have to wonder how we might compare to anyone else, or if we’re good enough to fit in, or if we’re celebrated for who we are. There, we can find the total security of being loved and accepted into the family of God. Today, spend some time in prayer thanking God for the unconditional love, acceptance, and belonging you find in being one of His children and part of His family.

About this Plan

It’s easy to get caught up in comparison. We compare our thoughts, words, actions, relationships, and even our faith. Chances are, if we’re honest, we’d admit that comparison makes us feel a lot worse. It has the potential to steal our joy, self-image, peace, success, and faith. That’s because comparison is a thief. As we’ll see in this series, we’ll look at the secret to breaking the cycle of comparison.
