Simple Prayer: How to Pray Like JesusSample

You are Holy
The Greatness of God’s Name
Read: Psalm 8
"Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!" (Psalm 8:1 NIV)
Devotional Thought:
Psalm 8 opens and closes with a declaration of God’s majestic name, reminding us that his glory is displayed throughout creation. When we consider the vastness of the universe—the stars, the oceans, the mountains—we are humbled that this same holy God is mindful of each of us. When we pray, “hallowed be your name,” we recognise that his greatness deserves our highest praise.
Prayer Practice: Sung Worship as Prayer
As you reflect on creation today, listen to or sing a song that celebrates God as Creator and King (e.g., “God of Wonders”, “Indescribable”, or “So Will I”). Let praise rise in response to his majesty.
Reflection Activity:
Spend some time outside today—look at the sky, feel the wind, observe nature. As you do, whisper the words: “How majestic is your name.”
Prayer:
Lord, your name is great and worthy of all praise. Open my eyes to see your glory in the world around me. Fill my heart with wonder and worship. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
