Christosis: Imitating JesusSample

Remember: Jesus became like us so we could be with Him and become like Him.
Consider the questions and prayer challenges we’ve reflected on this past week:
Day 1: What steps do you need to take to further prioritize being with Jesus?
Day 2: What have you been holding onto that has kept you from fully embracing the way of Jesus?
Day 3: Pray: “God, thank You for loving me. Draw me closer to You.”
Day 4: Start praying for God’s Kingdom to come and His will to be done in your life. Allow the Spirit to give you eyes to see and respond to the greater works Jesus brings into your world.
Reread John 14:1–12 from today’s reading. Let the passage read you. Which of the questions or challenges have you noticed growth in? Which ones do you need to continue to grow in?
Write down what God is saying to you, and share it with a trusted believer for further accountability. Let’s commit to becoming more like Jesus—together.

About this Plan

In our world of hustle, distractions, and troubles, how can we possibly become more like Jesus? It feels like there is so much noise enticing us to take another path. The word Christosis simply means "becoming like Jesus" or "being conformed to the image of Jesus." In John 14–16, Jesus gives His farewell message to His disciples. In this message, He reveals a path to Christosis. In this devotional, we are going to take a deep dive into John 14:1–12 and explore how we can continue to be conformed to the image of Jesus.
