The DJ Coach

As an entrepreneur, there’s no roadmap—no boss handing you a checklist, no guaranteed paycheck at the end of the week. You carry the pressure of every decision on behalf of your family, your team, your clients, and your calling. And in that pressure cooker, your faith is constantly tested.

For me, it reached a tipping point in 2019. I had spent over 15 years building six different DJ schools and pioneering DJ education—a road that hadn’t been traveled yet, as most DJs, myself included, were self-taught and learned through trial and error. But then my wife shared a vision God gave her: it was time to let it go.

At first, I resisted. It didn’t make logical sense—leave the brand I built, my stable salary, and the communities that I had fostered?! But in prayer, God gave me a picture—kids in different countries learning how to DJ using just an app and a phone. That’s when TheDJCoach.com was conceived.

It felt like a leap into the unknown. No blueprint. Just obedience.

God showed me strategies that were working in the church and illuminated how pastors were collaborating and scaling His message through technology. I stepped out in faith, saying to my wife, “Worst-case scenario, I could always just pick up more DJ gigs.” Then…just months later, the world shut down with the global pandemic, and therefore, zero gigs, everywhere.

“Did we make the right decision?” “Did I hear God correctly?”

Not only did I hear God correctly, but He is FAITHFUL! Through the pandemic, I was forced to focus on building a curriculum, writing a textbook, and teaching myself how to translate the physicality of DJing to an online audience that was now acclimated to learning online!

We focused on leaning in and seeking the Lord for the next steps, and we found what it truly means to surrender, believing wholeheartedly: “His ways are higher than my ways.” In 2021, just 12 months later, through various partnerships, we had reached students from 190 countries!

What started as a whisper from God became a global mission: to empower the next generation of DJs and inspire creativity where it’s least expected.

Being a Christian business owner doesn’t mean you have all the answers. It means you know where to turn when you don’t ( and even when you think you do). It means you trust the vision God gives you, even when it’s not popular or easy. It means walking by faith, not by sight—even when the numbers don’t add up, the timeline feels off, or the world says it can’t be done.

God has taught me that business success isn’t just about profits: it’s about purpose, it’s about building something eternal, not just impressive. Every email, every Zoom call, and every lesson plan has become an act of worship, a chance to steward the gifts He’s given me and point others back to Him.
