The tribal allotments provided a road-map for each tribe’s perpetual occupation – boundaries that they were to return to in each Jubilee year. In reality, the tribes had a more fluid relationship with their allotments, especially in cases where there were strong enemies. This led to the “two maps of Joshua” we’ll discuss here.
