Do Not Be Anxious About AnythingSample

Let God Comfort You
Scripture:
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 NIV
Reflection:
There’s something powerful about a hug. It’s not just emotional — it’s physical, too.
God designed our bodies to respond to loving touch. A warm hug releases oxytocin, the “love hormone,” which calms anxiety, lowers stress, and helps us feel safe and connected.
Even a 20-second hug can slow your heart rate and bring peace to your nervous system. It’s amazing how something so simple can speak so deeply to our souls.
And when no one is around to hug us, God is still near.
“As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you,” — Isaiah 66:13 NIV
His presence can hold you just as securely.
Journaling Prompt:
When was the last time you felt truly comforted?
Where in your life do you need a healing embrace — physically, emotionally, or spiritually? Ask the Holy Spirit to give you a Word of Comfort.
Prayer:
God, wrap me in Your comfort. Let me feel Your love in my anxious moments. Amen.
Practical Tip:
Find someone who is willing and ready for a big, bear hug. Hug them for at least 20 seconds.
