Do Not Be Anxious About AnythingSample

God Cares About Your Tears
Scripture:
Record my misery; list my tears on your scroll are they not in your record?
Psalm 56:8 NIV
Reflection:
Have you ever cried so much it felt like your heart might spill over? Psalm 56:8 tells us that God sees every single tear and He collects them.
Not one slips past Him.
In ancient times, people would use small bottles to catch their tears during times of grief, symbolising deep emotion and remembrance. The Psalmist uses that image to show us something powerful: God doesn’t just notice your pain; He treasures it.
He keeps a record of every tear not to remind you of your sorrow, but to honour the journey you’ve walked. He holds your pain with care and empathy, not judgment.
This is the kind of love that doesn’t turn away when we’re falling apart — it leans in closer. Even when you feel forgotten or broken, you are fully seen, deeply known, and completely loved.
Journaling Prompt:
Can you remember a time when you felt like no one saw your pain? How does it change your perspective to know that God collected every tear from that moment? Take time to write a prayer or letter to God, giving Him any tears you're still holding onto today.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for caring about my heartache. Comfort me with Your love. Amen.
Practical Tip:
Get a glass jar. Whenever you have a sad memory, regrets, or heartache, write it on a sticky note and add it to the jar. Think of Psalm 58:6 when you’re putting your memory in the jar, and remember that God cares deeply about your heart.
