Heart for the House Sample

"O Lord, the God of Israel, there is no God like you in all of heaven and earth. You keep your covenant and show unfailing love to all who walk before you in wholehearted devotion." — 2 Chronicles 6:14 (NLT)
Solomon’s prayer at the dedication of the Temple is a beautiful declaration of God’s faithfulness. Even with all the splendor of the Temple, Solomon knew that what mattered most was God’s presence and His steadfast love toward those who walk in wholehearted devotion.
It’s easy to get caught up in doing things for God—serving, giving, attending church—while forgetting that what He desires most is our hearts.
I remember when I went through a season of burnout; I was busy for God, but I had stopped truly sitting in His presence. Solomon’s prayer reminds us that God isn’t after perfection in our performance—He desires authentic, wholehearted devotion.
Today, pause from your tasks and spend intentional time in God’s presence. Offer Him your heart, your fears, and your desires. Ask Him to rekindle a wholehearted love in you.
Prayer:
Lord, there is no one like You. Help me not to get so caught up in doing things for You that I forget to simply be with You. Renew my heart and help me to walk in wholehearted devotion today. Amen.

About this Plan

David was able to set the stage for Solomon to build the temple by providing the victories for Solomon to have peace in the land, provision, and a launch pad for the new season to come. There are lessons in this for us today! For our future generations to see victory, it will take us fighting the battles now, and generously supporting God's plans to come! Join us through 2 Samuel and 1 Chronicles and be inspired by how you can be setting the next generation up for victory.
