Though the Eyes of a Child - a Video Devotional With Dustin Tavella and His SonsSample

Let’s Talk:
There was a lot of valuable stuff in today’s video.
Some of you might already know about the armor of God — maybe you've heard it in church or read it in Ephesians.
But have you ever slowed down long enough to ask:
What does each piece actually mean?
What does it do in real life?
Today’s video pulled everything together.
All the faith, confidence, obedience, and trust we’ve been talking about—this is where it all starts clicking.
Big Truth: Armor Is Not Optional
We’re in a fight. But God didn’t leave us defenseless.
He gave us armor — HIS armor. And every single piece plays a role in protecting us and helping us stand strong.
- Belt of Truth – When we know truth, we can walk in truth. We can also spot lies more easily
- Breastplate of Righteousness – Jesus makes our hearts whole. We don’t walk in shame— we walk in freedom.
- Shoes of Peace – We carry the good news with us. This message brings healing to us and the people around us.
- Shield of Faith – We are sure of who God is. That confidence blocks the lies and discouragement that try to take us out.
- Helmet of Salvation – Our minds are set on the cross. We remember who we are and what Jesus did.
- Sword of the Spirit – We don’t just take hits—we fight back with God’s Word.
We don’t just hope for victory — we fight from a place of victory. Jesus already won.
So, What Now?
Don’t walk into the battle without your armor.
This isn’t about trying harder.
It’s about standing in what’s already true.
- You know God.
- You know the truth.
- You are made right through Jesus.
- You are saved.
- You carry peace.
- You are equipped to fight back.
Jesus wins.
And because He wins, you win too!
Prayer You Can Pray:
God, thank You for giving me everything I need to stand strong. Help me put on Your armor every single day. Remind me of the truth when lies come. Cover my heart with Your righteousness. Fill my mind with the reality of my salvation. Strengthen my faith so I can stand firm. And help me use Your Word to fight back when I feel weak. Thank You for fighting for me—and winning. Amen.
Bottom Line:
The armor of God isn’t just symbolic — it’s essential.
Put it on. Stand strong.
And remember: Jesus already won.

About this Plan

Sometimes we think we understand basic concepts in the Bible like faith, wisdom, and rejoicing. But Illusionist and America's Got Talent winner, Dustin Tavella, takes a dive into how profound these concepts can be when they are viewed through the eyes of a child. In this 7 day podcast series, Dustin sits with his 5 and 6 year old sons to talk through these very concepts. This bible plan is meant to inspire a sense of wonder when it comes to our Christian walk and breathe new life on some concepts that we may have grown a bit numb to.
