Though the Eyes of a Child - a Video Devotional With Dustin Tavella and His SonsSample

Let’s Talk:
One of my favorite lines from today’s video was this:
“Faith is believing that God can do stuff.”
Simple, right? But what if we actually lived like that was true?
What if we believed God could “do stuff” in our finances?
In our relationships?
In our mental health?
In our hearts?
Think of how much that would actually change!
Big Truth: Faith = Confidence
Let’s break it down.
The definition of faith is “complete trust or confidence in someone or something.”
That word complete stands out.
Not halfway.
Not “on good days.”
Not “when everything makes sense.”
Complete.
And that word confidence again... just like we talked about in the video.
Hebrews 11:1 says:
“Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”
Confidence is being sure.
Knowing in your bones that God is who He says He is and He’ll do what He says He’ll do.
Let’s Get Practical
Imagine a game where someone hides a $100 bill under one of three cups.
Blue, yellow, red.
You see with your own eyes that they put it under the blue cup.
Now—what would it take for someone to convince you it’s under the yellow one?
They could scream.
Laugh at you.
Call you crazy.
But if you know where the truth is, why would you change your answer?
That’s what real faith looks like.
Don't Give In
The world is loud.
And it’s constantly trying to pull you toward the yellow cup.
“You’re crazy to trust God.”
“That’s not how life works.”
“Be realistic.”
But when you know the truth of who God is… when you’re confident in Him...
You stop letting the noise change your mind. Wouldn't it be silly to change your mind to the yellow cup just to make it "easier"?
You keep your eyes on the blue cup!
You keep walking in faith.
So, What Now?
Let’s live like we actually believe God can do stuff.
Like… really do stuff.
In your hurts.
In your friendships.
In your calling.
In your battles.
When the world says, “That won’t work,”
You can say, “I’ve already seen what God can do.”
And that changes everything. Faith is a powerful thing. Start taking small steps of faith and watch the impact that God starts to make in your day to day life.
Prayer You Can Pray:
God, I want to live like I truly believe You can do stuff. I don’t want to be swayed by what the world says or by my own doubts. Help me to walk in complete confidence in who You are and what You can do. Remind me of what You’ve done in the past so I can trust You with what’s ahead. Fill me with bold faith and help me live like Your promises are real—because they are. Amen.
Bottom Line:
Faith isn’t just saying you believe—
It’s living like God really can DO STUFF.
About this Plan

Sometimes we think we understand basic concepts in the Bible like faith, wisdom, and rejoicing. But Illusionist and America's Got Talent winner, Dustin Tavella, takes a dive into how profound these concepts can be when they are viewed through the eyes of a child. In this 7 day podcast series, Dustin sits with his 5 and 6 year old sons to talk through these very concepts. This bible plan is meant to inspire a sense of wonder when it comes to our Christian walk and breathe new life on some concepts that we may have grown a bit numb to.
