Day 2: Life - The expression of God’s love through us.
“For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God.” 1 Peter 1:23(NLT).
We have come to understand that God’s love for us is the very foundation of our Christian faith. This wonderful love transforms us completely; it has given us a new birth, severing all ties to our past sins and mistakes. We refer to this transformation as ‘the life of Christ in us.’ It is the presence and power of Christ’s love and teachings within us, guiding our thoughts, words, and actions.
As 2 Corinthians 5:17 beautifully puts it, “When anyone belongs to Christ, they become a new person. Their old way of life has gone. Their new life has begun!” (EASY Translation). This transformation is what enables us to face trials without being defined by them and still be a source of blessing and encouragement to others. The harder we fall, the higher we bounce! If you know someone struggling or going through a hard time, the life of Christ within us compels us to reach out, offering a listening ear and words of hope, reminding them that they are not alone.
Imagine feeling anxious before taking that much-needed next step for your career or relationship; because of the life of Christ in us, we can face that anxiety with boldness, trusting in God’s guidance to lead us to success. This trust in God’s guidance gives us peace and empowers us to be a source of light and encouragement for others. We can share it with others because we are filled with God’s love. Let our interactions radiate joy, forgiveness, and love! This act of service might be a reminder of God’s love for someone going through a hard time. Remember, you are never alone in your journey.
Knowing that you have the life of God within you, how can you express this divine life to those around you today? Consider the joy and fulfilment that come from sharing God’s love and being a source of encouragement to others. This is not just a duty but a privilege and a joy that can fill your heart and energize your spirit.
As we actively express this love, we are strengthened by the Holy Spirit dwelling within us.
Declarations:
Let’s boldly declare these truths:
I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
I am the redeemed of the Lord.
Nothing dies in my hands.
I have the Spirit of Love within me; hence, I dispense God’s love.
I declare that I am empowered with inner strength through the Spirit.
Therefore, I am not weak!
