Reading the Bible can feel intimidating sometimes. But one simple way of studying Scripture is called S.O.A.P. It stands for "Scripture," "Observation," "Application," and "Prayer." We'll show you how—it's easy!
S: Scripture
If you haven't already, read today's passage of Scripture. Then summarize it in your own words.
O: Observation
Read Psalm 18:28 again.
- What stands out to you?
- What does this verse teach us about becoming a light to others?
- What questions do you still have?
A: Application
What's a dark place you need God's light in right now?
How does this passage encourage you to live differently?
Light has to have a source. A candle can't light itself. A light switch needs to be flipped. What's one way you can invite Jesus to be the source of the light you give?
P: Prayer
Spend some time in worship for God's light to reveal encouragement and guidance in the dark places of your life. Talk to God about a specific situation to invite light to an area in your life where you need it most.

About this Plan

We’ve all wondered who we are, what makes us unique, and how we’re supposed to make a difference in the world. It may not feel like a big deal, but how you spend your free time says a lot about who you are and what you care most about. It’s easy to feel like our interests and talents are just random, but the truth is that God created each of us with a purpose to do amazing things. For the next 28 days, we’ll see how the hobbies and interests you love might be exactly how God works through you.
