Reading the Bible can feel intimidating sometimes. But one simple way of studying Scripture is called S.O.A.P. It stands for "Scripture," "Observation," "Application," and "Prayer." We'll show you how—it's easy!
S: Scripture
If you haven't already, read today's passage of Scripture. Then summarize it in your own words.
O: Observation
Read Isaiah 58:6–9 again.
- What stands out to you?
- What does it teach us about how we're made to make a difference?
- How does it describe God helping you do this?
A: Application
What part of this sticks out to you? How would you find a way to make a difference in your local community this week?
How does this passage invite you to see your role in righting wrongs differently?
What's an injustice hurting others in your community that you can help solve?
What's an obstacle you'd need to overcome in doing so?
P: Prayer
Spend some time in prayer, asking God to soften your heart to see injustice around you. Ask God to give you the courage to own that you are made to make a difference. Then say thank you for all the ways God provides support for those who look to do what's right in helping others.

About this Plan

We’ve all wondered who we are, what makes us unique, and how we’re supposed to make a difference in the world. It may not feel like a big deal, but how you spend your free time says a lot about who you are and what you care most about. It’s easy to feel like our interests and talents are just random, but the truth is that God created each of us with a purpose to do amazing things. For the next 28 days, we’ll see how the hobbies and interests you love might be exactly how God works through you.
