Divine Intervention

Andrew answered the phone with shaking hands. "Hello?"

"Pastor Andrew?" A female voice, but not Vanessa's. "This is Julia from New Life Community. I'm sorry to call like this, but we have an emergency. One of the young people in our group is in the hospital and is asking for a pastor. I know you're not from our church, but I've heard great things about your work with youth. Could you help us?"

Andrew felt as if a huge weight had been lifted from his shoulders. "Of course, Julia. I'll be there as soon as possible."

He quickly sent a message to Vanessa canceling the meeting and rushed to the hospital. There, he spent hours talking and praying with the young man and his family.

When he finally left the hospital, exhausted but with a light heart, Andrew found Julia in the reception area. She smiled, "Pastor, thank you for coming. You know, something told me I should call you today. I think it was God using me."

Andrew couldn't hold back the tears. "Julia, you have no idea how much God used you today."

Reflection: God works in mysterious ways. Sometimes, what seems to be an interruption in our plans is actually God's hand protecting us.
