Walking With Anxiety: A 7-Day Devotional GuideSample

Day 2: Finding Comfort in God's Presence
The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. - Psalm 34:18
God Is Near in Your Struggles. He never abandons His children in distress. He is especially near in moments of pain, fear, and sorrow.
Anxiety can often make us feel isolated, as though no one truly understands what we’re going through. But the truth is, God is near—especially in our hardest moments.
Throughout Scripture, we see faithful men and women struggling with fear, sorrow, and uncertainty. King David, one of the greatest heroes of the faith, poured out his anxieties in the Psalms, crying out to God when he was afraid. Yet, despite his fear, he kept returning to one truth: God never left him.
David’s life reminds us that faith does not mean the absence of struggle. It means knowing who to turn to in the struggle. Even when God allowed David to walk through difficult seasons, He remained steadfast, loving, and near. And just as God was with David, He is with you.
Maybe you feel like you are barely holding on. Your heart feels heavy, your spirit is weary, and the uncertainties of life seem overwhelming. But God has not abandoned you. He is close to the brokenhearted, and He sees every tear you cry. He is not asking you to figure everything out—He is simply asking you to trust Him, surrender, and rest in His presence.
When anxiety grips your heart, peace feels like the thing you want most but can’t seem to reach. Yet, God’s peace is available to you right now. Philippians 4:7 reminds us that He offers a peace that surpasses all understanding—a peace that goes beyond our circumstances and brings stillness to our souls.
Today, take a deep breath and remind yourself that God is with you. He is near, and you are not alone.
