Shane & Shane - Bring Your Nothing

DAY 2 OF 7

That’s How You Forgive

Psalm 145: 8-9

The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. The Lord is good to all, and his mercy is over all that he has made.

Psalm 145:18-19

The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desire of those who fear him; he also hears their cry and saves them.

The Gospel is not only “the power of God to salvation" but our daily bread. It empowers us, not just at one moment in our lives, but every day, every hour. The Gospel should be a daily reminder that life is not about what I do but about what He did. This song was written to be just that, a reminder packaged in a pop song of the simple and yet completely supernatural Gospel. “That’s How You Forgive” is a modern day Doxology, declaring that “He lived the life that I could never live, He died the death that I deserve, He rose to life and now He lives!” That's how He forgives!

What freedom we have in this truth!!! Free to live. Free to fail. Free to love and give without return because ALL of the return that our heart longs for is found in Him! We pray that Jesus would truly satisfy that longing in your heart! That He would give you the “strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God."
