What if I’m Wrong?: Navigating the Waves of Fear and FailureSample

I don’t know what God is calling you to. But I do know that passion is calling. I believe with all my heart that God is calling you to serve right now, right where you are—and to trust him that it is not too late for you.
Not too late to stop resisting your own life. To put your feet in the water, even if the waves are starting to rise. And you don’t have to hustle harder to get doors to open; you just have to be faithful with what has been placed in your hands.
I want you to multiply small moments. To be willing to walk the block with God. To be willing to serve your passions rather than have your passions be in service to you. To be willing to help the people next to you, whether with a little or with a lot.
Life will always have seasons that bring you too low. You can’t escape them. But ocean tides go in and out. Waves roll back to sea. The sun gives way to the darkness, and the darkness gives way to the sun. Snow will turn to water. And to love and to suffer are both Christ. To avoid either love or suffering would be to avoid life itself.
So start living your own life. Reengage in your own story. You think you are too old, or too young, or too forgotten, or too unimportant for God to consume your life in passion? Remember the truth of Lamentations 3, that God’s mercies are new every morning; and of Philippians 1, that he who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it.
Maybe you think you gave up so much already and are sitting with what feels like so little. Your story doesn’t feel like it is part of a broader one. It feels like no one is coming. All of those years you spent enduring, and you think you have nothing to show for it. But what if you’re wrong? What if God is just getting started in his good plans for your life?
PRAYER: Lord God, when I am tempted to wonder if it’s too late, please remind me by your Spirit that your mercies are new every morning, and that you are not finished with me. Amen.
