The Wealth Transfer: 3 Hidden Truths Most Christians Miss

DAY 2 OF 3

Day 2: The Meek Shall Inherit

When Jesus said the meek would inherit the earth, what did He really mean? Many of us associate meekness with weakness or humility, but there's a deeper financial principle at work here.

The Greek word for "meek" used in Matthew 5:5 refers to power under control. It's not about lacking power, but voluntarily limiting the use of available power. When applied to finances, meekness means voluntarily limiting the use of available resources – choosing to live below your means rather than stretching to your limit.

This is profoundly different from debt, which is using MORE than the resources available to you. Meekness and debt are complete opposites!

Throughout history, we see this principle at work during economic cycles. Those who stretch themselves thin with debt eventually lose assets during downturns, while those who maintain margin (the meek) are positioned to acquire those assets at discounts. The meek literally inherit the earth!

This isn't about taking advantage of others' misfortune.

Rather, it's about being positioned to be part of God's solution when others need help. Think about Joseph in Egypt – God didn't just supernaturally transfer Pharaoh's wealth to him. Instead, He gave Joseph wisdom to prepare during seven years of plenty so he could help during seven years of famine.

Today, consider how you can practice financial "meekness" – voluntarily limiting your use of available resources to create margin. This isn't about deprivation but about preparation for both provision and protection.

Let's pray:

Lord Jesus, thank You for teaching us the blessedness of meekness. Help me to embrace living below my means, not out of fear or scarcity, but out of wisdom and preparation. Show me how to create a margin in my finances so that I can be both protected during difficult times and positioned to help others. May I live in such a way that I can be part of Your solution when others are in need.

In Your name, I pray, Amen.
