Walk by Faith, Not by Sight

There will always be obstacles when starting a business, beginning a new job, or changing careers—really, in any new season in life. People will tell you no, doors will close, worry or anxiety might set in, and there will be times when you wonder if you are even on the right path. What dreams do you have in your heart right now that are on the brink of dying? I encourage you to treat every no as a “not yet” or a “no, I have something better.” In other words, each no is just a step closer to the yes that God has waiting for you.

The demands of starting a business or chasing a dream, especially when things are moving faster than you can keep up with, can be overwhelming. But if you trust in God and lean on Him no matter what, He will show up and lift you up, true to His Word in Isaiah 40:31, “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not faint.”

When you stay focused on your vision, you’ll see God’s glory in your story grow. No matter how much you might lack, God’s provision is more than enough; He will meet every need, no matter how big or how small.

Remember, also, that beginnings don’t dictate outcomes. You don’t need to have all the resources or all the answers when you start—what you need is the willingness to keep going, even when it feels impossible. The journey is what shapes you, and the challenges you face along the way are what make the success that much sweeter. Every struggle, every “no,” every uphill climb, is part of God’s plan to build something greater.

As we grow along the journey, we can embrace and affirm the truth of James 1:2–4: “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
