Hard Things
Life won't always be easy. Invariably, there will be times when God will show His people hard things. Most of us would altogether avoid these hard things if it were possible. We'd never choose to experience hard things. Hard things hurt, frustrate, and confuse us.
That's just how it is and that's just how it's always going to be. God wants our lives to have a certain degree of hardness in order to strengthen, mature, and prepare us for eternity.
"Ummmm...excuse me, Pastor. This is not the sort of inspiration I was looking for today!" Well hang on, because there's a precious truth we need to note. It's tempting and natural for us to question our connection with God when hard things happen. We may wonder if the difficulties are a sign He no longer loves us or has His hand upon our lives.
But don't miss what the Word is saying here. It's says God shows hard things to His own people. In other words, God's ownership is still intact and in force regardless of life's hardness. We're His when things are going well, and we're His when things are hard. We are no less His when we're in the valley than when we're standing on the summit.
Don't breeze by that. It's a truth you'll need to cling to sooner or later-if you haven't already. There will be hard things in your life. There's no doubt about it. We don't know when, we don't know what, and we don't know how they will come our way. But what we do know is Who...Who we belong to.
Author of our faith and Owner of our lives, we take refuge in knowing we're Your property and that our futures and fortunes rest in Your hands, especially when things get hard.
We belong to God regardless of our circumstances. We're His when things are going well, and we're His when things are hard. Whether we're in the valley or we're standing on the summit, God is constant in his ownership of our lives.

About this Plan
