Steps to Salvation: A Simple Guide to Sharing Your FaithSample

Day 4: Responding to the Gospel
Scripture Reading: Romans 10:9-10, Romans 10:13
"If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved." – Romans 10:9-10
"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." – Romans 10:13
A Personal Decision
We have seen the reality of sin, the consequence of sin, and the incredible love of Christ in taking our place. But knowing these truths is not enough. The gift of salvation is offered to everyone, but it must be received. Romans 10:9-10 makes it clear that salvation is both an inward belief and an outward confession.
Acknowledging that God exists or that Jesus is a historical person is not enough to receive salvation. To be saved, we must believe that Jesus is who He says He is—our King who died for our sins and was raised to life. This belief is not just intellectual agreement but a belief, trust, and surrender that shapes our lives. Then, we confess Jesus as Lord, declaring that He is not only the ruler of the universe but of our lives.
Romans 10:13 reminds us of the simplicity and power of the gospel. There are no complicated steps, no qualifications we must meet. Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. That includes the person who has lived chiefly a morally upright life and the one who has made countless mistakes. No one is too far gone for God’s grace.
Your Story
Think back to when you decided to follow Jesus. What led you to that moment? How did it feel to surrender your life to Him? What is holding you back if you have not yet made that decision? Take a few moments to write about your personal response to the gospel.
Prayer Prompt
Father, thank You for making salvation available to everyone. I believe in my heart that Jesus is Lord, and I trust in His resurrection. Help me share this truth with others so they know the freedom and grace in You. It is in the name of Jesus we pray, amen.
