Day 5: Men of Integrity, Humility, and Courage

So far, we have studied the way and measure of a marksman. Today, we will focus on the first three of the five pillars of a marksman’s character: integrity, humility, and courage. These foundational traits are essential for men who desire to honor God, lead with purpose, and make a lasting impact.

Integrity is about living with honesty and consistency, being the same person in private as you are in public. Proverbs 10:9 reminds us, “Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.” A man of integrity chooses what is right, even when it’s inconvenient or when no one is watching. This commitment to truth builds trust, inspires respect, and creates a legacy that points others to God’s faithfulness. While perfection isn’t required, integrity means aligning your actions with your convictions and striving to live out your faith authentically.

Humility is a strength that comes from recognizing your dependence on God and valuing others above yourself. Philippians 2:3 challenges us: “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.” A humble man isn’t concerned with recognition but seeks to serve with a selfless heart. Humility allows you to admit when you’re wrong, seek forgiveness, and build stronger relationships. It’s through humility that we lead like Christ, showing grace and understanding to those around us while relying on God’s wisdom to guide our steps.

Courage, the third pillar, is not the absence of fear but the decision to act in faith despite it. Joshua 1:9 declares, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Courage is essential for standing firm in your convictions, protecting your family, and stepping into the calling God has placed on your life. A courageous man faces challenges head-on, trusting in God’s strength to see him through and knowing that obedience often requires boldness.

These three pillars—integrity, humility, and courage—are the foundation for becoming the man God has called you to be. Together, they shape your character and equip you to live a life that honors Him. By walking in truth, serving selflessly, and acting with bold faith, you reflect the heart of a marksman who is committed to his purpose and ready to make an impact for God’s Kingdom.
