The Bible for Young Explorers: MarkSample

John points to Jesus
John the Baptist was a wild one, living in the desert and eating bugs. The last book of the Old Testament promised that God would come to his people, but first, he would send a prophet to announce it. When John started shouting, ‘Get ready! He’s coming!’ the people knew what he meant.
What is the trinity?
When Jesus was baptised, God the Father spoke to him from heaven, and God’s Spirit descended on Jesus right there in the River Jordan. Here, we see God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit all in one and all in action. This is what is known as the Trinity, which means ‘triunity’ or ‘three-in-one.’ The Trinity is not a math puzzle to solve, but rather the holy family of the Almighty that we are invited into.
