The Bible for Young Explorers: JohnSample

Why didn't Jesus help immediately?
When Jesus heard that a close friend was seriously ill, he delayed two days before visiting. When he got there, Lazarus was dead, and his sisters, Mary and Martha, were distraught. Why had Jesus not come sooner? Jesus had already healed sick people. But now he needed to raise a dead person. Jesus delayed so that he could show that death is not the end and that he also has power over that.
The shortest verse
John 11:35 is the shortest verse in the Bible. It shows Jesus’ emotion at the death of his close friend. It encourages us not to bottle up how we are feeling.
