Journey With Purpose: 25 Days of Growing Closer to GodSample

The Power of Simple Conversations
Opportunities to Make a Difference
Jesus met a Samaritan woman at a well and began talking with her. This took everybody but Jesus by surprise. The Jews and Samaritans did not get along. And a man talking to a woman in public in the middle of the day was also not culturally acceptable. But it turned into a powerful exchange. John Whitehouse talks about how we can have similar meaningful conversations everyday.
People with needs come across your path daily. Jesus entered into simple conversations as a way to show that He cared. Why not pray and ask God for guidance in caring for and encouraging the people you meet? Use conversations as a starting point. Through them, you will be increasingly aware of the ways you can make a difference in their lives by making your life count.
Application Question:
- "Being aware of people's needs opens the door to share the light of Jesus Christ." How can you be more aware of the people around you? Make a conscious effort to pray for awareness and see what God may do.
