Fear Is Not My Future | 21 Days of Prayer and FastingSample

When the enemy attacks and fear sets in, what is your shield? Jesus promises us that in this world, tribulations will come, and we will have to face them.
We see this in Ephesians 6 as well. The believer with the armor of God equipped will still face the fiery attacks of the evil one, the one who would love to sow fear, worry, and doubt in us today and for the future. What are believers to do? Paul says in Ephesians 6:16, “In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one.” "Take up" is in the active voice, indicating that each believer must choose to do this. In every situation the believer can face, every moment we could choose fear and doubt, Paul says to take up faith.
Hebrews describes faith as "the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." This means that faith, for us as Christians, involves choosing to believe in the promises of God. It is about facing the trials and challenges of each day, recognizing our weaknesses and limitations, and instead of giving in to fear, choosing to believe and walk confidently in the promises and character of God.
When attacks come, attempting to divert our attention towards today's circumstances, as a believer, I can deflect this attack by remembering that God is always with me. He does not change like a shifting shadow. Having faith in God is our way of overcoming fears and defending against the evils of this world by standing on the truth that Christ has overcome the world.
Today, take up faith by meditating on the promise found in John 16:33 and apply this promise to the fears you may face today
