Jesus’ purpose for coming to earth, was soon to be fulfilled. Jesus was preparing His disciples for what was to come. He explained why He must go away and that He would prepare a place for them as well. He explained that He was the only way to get to the Father. But He would not leave them alone on this earth; He would send the Comforter, the Holy Spirit to be with them. This Comforter would guide them and help them remember everything that Jesus said and the promises that He gave. Yes, He would be leaving, but He would not leave them alone.

The Holy Spirit is still with those who have a relationship with God today! He still guides, comforts, and does not leave believers alone. What an amazing promise and gift that God gave us!
