Nicodemus was a Pharisee, a ruler of the Jews. He had many questions about who Jesus was and why he had come. He had heard about the coming Messiah and wondered what this Messiah could do for him. Nicodemus came to Jesus with questions about salvation. Just like Nicodemus, there are many people who are waiting for someone to talk to them about spiritual things. They are asking questions; maybe they have heard about Jesus but they do not know him personally. They are seeking answers that only can be found in the Word of God.
