Be for RealSample

Have you ever seen a television show where the character kind of spirals? Like one bad decision just kind of led to another and then another? All of a sudden, they have created a terrible situation that they can’t escape. Often, it is because they told a lie or did something dishonest. Have you ever felt like telling the truth or even doing the trustworthy thing is difficult? We tend to wonder if telling a lie or avoiding it altogether would be the easiest solution. At first, it might be, but only for a little while. Dishonesty almost always comes with consequences and usually just makes us feel like we can do it again in the future.
This week, if you are faced with a difficult decision, ask yourself, “What does it look like to be honest?” and ask a trusted adult as you prepare to respond.
